Memphis @ Nashville

Game Date: July 20, 2005
Redbirds lose 7-6

Game Wrap (which doesn't even mention Anthony)

Sounds ground Redbirds again (which barely mentions Anthony) - Nashville City Paper

Recap: Well, it seems there was an all time first for this game; Anthony was officially ejected from a game. In the bottom of the 6th, Anthony hit the Sound's Corey Hart by a pitch. Without even a warning, home plate umpire Kevin Kelley ejected Anthony immediately. It has been confirmed that the incident was in fact an accident, and I for one believe it. It was the bottom of the 6th, the score was tied 1-1 against the division rivals, there was a man on second and third, and the clean up batter was on deck: it just wouldn't make sense to hit a batter on purpose and load the basis for one of the Sound's best hitters. I heard that even the first base umpire thought the call was questionable. In any event, Anthony was given a no-decision after he pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 2 runs on 3 hits, walking 2 and racking up 4 strike outs; his ERA is now 3.10.
